Welcome To spokanescots.org, the website of the Saint Andrew's Society of the Inland Northwest. Since 1954, the Society has been active in promoting Scottish heritage and cultural preservation in Eastern Washington and Northern Idaho. We are a non-profit, non-sectarian organization open to all, without bias to race, color or gender, to anyone of Scottish descent, or any other person who has a strong interest in Scottish heritage or culture.
The St. Andrews Society is supported through individual, family and affiliate memberships. Affiliate members are other Scottish groups that focus on specific areas of our culture. At present our affiliate members are the Albeni Falls Pipes & Drums of North Idaho, the Angus Scott Pipe Band of Spokane, Celtic Music Spokane, the Friends of Spokane House, the Holy Names Music Center, the Northwest Highland Dancers, the Selkirk Celts Consortium & Selkirk Celts Pipes, Drums and Dancers, the Spokane Highland Games Association, the Spokane Scottish Country Dancers, the Spokane Valley Highland Dancers, and the St. Joseph's Pipe & Drum Corps. Each of these groups is independent of each other, but all interact with each other and with the Society to organize events which benefit members and the Spokane area community.
We hope you will browse through our website to learn a more about our affiliates and us. Take a look at our newsletter, The Thistle Epistle and the calendar to get information about our upcoming events. Perhaps you would like to join us?
Slainté.
